North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep is a co-educational independent day school in Hampstead NW3. Our vibrant and happy school educates children from 2.9 years to 7 years, at which point they move on to North Bridge House Prep school in Year 3.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil  in Year 1. This is a fixed term contract dependent upon the child remaining at North Bridge House School.

Specific Responsibilities relating to the role of Learning Support Assistant. 

· To promote inclusion 

· Implement a program of support given by outside agencies to support communication and interaction e.g PALs, PECs, visual cues, social stories

· To build on positive attributes already displayed by the child and further develop these

· Establish and maintain positive home-school links

· To be able to plan tasks and adapt activities to promote cognition and learning in all areas of the curriculum

· Promote positive social interactions and positive behaviour in social situations

· To have a warm, consistent and caring approach towards child development in order to promote social skills and develop good   emotional health

· Be able to deliver a timetable of activities developing balance, coordination, spatial awareness and sensory awareness.

· To liaise closely with the SENDCo, Educational Psychologists, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapists 

· Support children with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills 

· To be involved in the monitoring and evaluation of  formal and informal assessment of the child (e.g. effort, progress, work   standards and organisation) as directed by the teacher, and helping to keep up to date the necessary records and taking relevant action.

· Assist in reporting the progress of the individual child to parents, colleagues as necessary, always respecting confidentiality

Attendance at termly Parents' Evenings.   

Additionally to be involved with such occasional meetings with parents which are essential to the relationship between school and home. 

For 1:1 LSAs specifically this will involve a weekly written report to parents.

· To work as part of a team in planning and assessing within the current guidelines for KS1.

· To be able to promote good practice and be willing to share this with others.

· To familiarise self with policies and procedures and use them within daily routines.

· To ensure the health, safety and well being of the children and report any hazards noticed.

· Attend staff meetings and occasional events such as Summer Fair.

· Attend training and develop relevant skills.

· To work within a team and be flexible.

· Deal with minor incidents and refer to senior staff if necessary 


Shortlisted applicants will be contacted and invited for interview. If successful at interview stage candidates will be invited to plan and deliver an activity with the child under observation by the Senior Leadership Team.
