Are you a good team player who wants to work in a vibrant & successful school?
Smithy Street is a two-form entry primary school situated in the heart of London’s ethnically diverse East End. We are lucky to have very engaged parents who are supportive and ambitious for their children. We passionately believe in Inclusion and have a highly specialised team of professionals working with our SEND children.
Working in Smithy Street will give you the opportunity to work in a team alongside supportive senior leaders, highly motivated teachers and will give you access to excellent training opportunities. We believe in enabling all of our teachers to develop their teaching skills and have engaged specialists to work with teachers in order to provide them with personalized development opportunities. Many of our leaders, including senior leaders, have risen through the ranks internally; evidence of our commitment to provide career progression opportunities within school. We consult staff in relation to the TLR post they’d like to lead, so please let us know if you have a preference for a particular subject.
We were rated ‘Outstanding’ during our last Ofsted inspection and teaching here in Tower Hamlets, one of the most successful Local Authorities in the country, will enable you to benefit from working in close partnership with many other successful schools. Our curriculum provision is rich; we plan for learning to happen in real contexts and we strive to make best use of all the unique and exciting learning opportunities on our doorstep in London.
But by far our biggest assets are our children! They are welcoming, eager to learn and very well behaved.
Please check our website www.smithystreet.org.uk if all of this appeals to you or if you’d like more information.
