KS1 Primary / Early Years teacher
Southern International School, Hat Yai, Thailand (SIH) is looking to recruit a Key Stage 1 / Early Years teacher from January 2020.
A KS1 Primary / Early Years teacher is sought for Southern International School Hat Yai, a rapidly growing, co-educational, pre-school to age 18 Cambridge International School in the prosperous and friendly southern Thai city of Hat Yai. We are an accredited examination centre for Cambridge International Examinations and achieved ISQM accreditation at Silver level through the Education Development Trust last term.
Despite being a relatively young school, in only our fourth year of operation, we are experiencing strong growth, particularly in our early years and primary sections. We definitely have a vacancy for a KG1 (3 -4 year olds) teacher and it is likely that the current Year 1 class will be split due to increasing intake, requiring an additional teacher. You should indicate in your application what your preferred age groups are. We currently offer a blend of the EYFS and IPC in Early Years, and a blend of IPC and National Curriculum in the Primary section. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to undergo training to deliver the IPC if necessary.
You will be supported by teaching assistants and professional colleagues. There are opportunities for strong and ambitious candidates to develop leadership roles in the school.
Any specialism in SEN or technology would be welcomed and should be referred to in your application.
Our children are mostly Thai and from other Asian countries with parents who are committed to giving their children an international education. Our parents are extremely loyal and supportive, and participate in many school events and activities.
The successful candidate will be joining the school at an exciting period in its development. There are opportunities to develop yourself professionally and personally in a safe, happy, supportive environment. Hat Yai is a wonderful, safe city that provides a great quality of life, and this partly explains why so many of our staff stay with us.
We will contact your referees unless you specify otherwise. Shortlisted candidates will be sent more details including the current staff handbook.
Please read the job description and person specification, and look at our website and Facebook pages to get a feel for working in SIH and living in Southern Thailand.
NOTE: We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their applications as soon as possible.
Southern International School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Please note that should your application be successful a police check will be undertaken in the country of origin; in the UK, a disclosure will be requested from the UK’s Disclosure and Barring Service.
