Job overview

Reflections small school is looking for a talented KS1 teacher to join the team and to provide exceptional educational experiences for the children.

Reflections is a Reggio inspired Nursery and Small School based in Worthing. Our Reggio inspired approach sits at the heart of how we do things, we also draw much inspiration from the forest nurseries of Denmark, world-renowned for their wonderful outdoor work with young children.

The teacher will help the children to develop holistically through the Reggio Emilia inspired approach, including project-based learning.

Small School provides education for 24 children in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2. All children in Small School attend our Forest and Beach School programme on a Thursday and a Friday each week. Children in KS1 are taught in mixed aged classes so effective differentiation is expected.

At Reflections, we believe all children have the right to be understood as individuals and to be given time and opportunity to develop as creative, competent learners in an inspiring environment, with lots of access to the outdoors.

Reflections Small School opened in September 2017 and had its first Ofsted inspection in June 2018. The school joined the Independent Schools Association in January 2022 and therefore the next inspection will be undertaken by ISI.

Reflections is part of the Dukes Education, a family of schools and educators, brought together by a common purpose: to give children the foundations for an extraordinary life, through education.

Dukes Education is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks in accordance with the relevant statutory guidance, including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, proof of identity and qualifications, and a satisfactory medical report.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
