An exciting opportunity has arisen at St. Chad’s School and the Governors wish to appoint a motivated, highly organised and effective teacher to share our ambition to support all pupils in our care, achieve their fullest potential. You will join our team at an exciting time of change for the school to help provide excellence in every aspect of provision for our pupils. This is an excellent career opportunity for an exemplary and innovative practitioner who has aspirations to become a senior leader at St. Chad’s. Due to this, this post is not suitable for an Early Careers Teacher.

As SENDCo you will be an inspiring and effective teacher with the energy and creativity to motivate a team, lead by example and challenge staff and pupils to ensure that SEND pupils achieve the best possible outcomes. You will also take the role of deputy DSL and have clear knowledge and commitment to safeguarding practices. This post would be suitable for a candidate with the NASENCO qualification or someone wishing to undertake this qualification and we welcome visits at any time. 

We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner who:

  • A practising Catholic or supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
  • Has experience of working with children across the primary age range and can draw on knowledge of interventions, training and resources to ensure children with SEND learn well and thrive
  • A record of excellent classroom practice with strong organisation and assessment skills.
  • The ability to develop, share and inspire all with ideas for the adjustment of learning so that pupils with SEND know and remember more.
  • The ability to reflect and see solutions in daily teaching, in own practice and that of the team.
  • Wants to ensure safeguarding is a priority at St. Chad’s and will promote staff and pupil well-being
  • Has experience of working with LA and outside agencies to support children and families
  • Has thorough understanding of SEND procedures including the EHCP process and top up funding applications
  • The ability to build effective trusting relationships with colleagues, parents, children, external agencies, and a range of professionals.
  • The commitment to high standards of progress and achievement.
  • A self-motivated and researched focus approach and is able to work as a team member with enthusiasm and energy.
  • A willingness to take an active role in the life of our school and across the Emmaus Academy Trust.
  • Has high expectations of children and self.
