Welcome to Lightcliffe School!

We are proud of the fact that for over 130 years the school has been at the heart of the community of Lightcliffe.

We hope that you will find the information contained here both helpful
and informative. You will find within these pages details of a practical nature, but
also an indication of the type of school we are. We value the contribution of all aspects of the curriculum in developing a child’s understanding of the world around them, whilst obviously ensuring that the basic skills necessary in life are well grounded.

The way children relate to one another and how we relate to them, to you the parents and the community at large is also important to us. We encourage what we hope is a climate of participation and mutual trust built on Christian values.

A welcome from the headteacher, Mr Charles Woodbridge

We believe strongly in a partnership between the home and the school, which will unlock each child’s full potential. Our Aim, as indicated in the Mission Statement, is to give everyone the opportunity to succeed.

We do know, however, that things can go wrong. Please let us know about anything you are worried or unhappy about. We really would prefer you to discuss it with us. We like to hear good news as well, so do please let us know that too!

We look forward to receiving your child into school.
