Salary: M1 to M3 currently £30,000 - £33,814 FTE

Full time: Maternity cover until summer 2025

We are seeking to appoint, from Autumn 2024, a class teacher to join our small team and cover maternity leave for the academic year. This opportunity is likely to be in Key Stage Two teaching a mixed age class of 30 children.

We are looking for a teacher who is an excellent practitioner with good knowledge of the curriculum and how pupils learn. The right person needs to be passionate about children’s learning and keen to ensure all children make progress. You will need to be a skilful communicator and a strong team player who is committed to making a difference. We seek someone who is keen to engage with continuing professional development and develop, has ambition for themselves and the school, and is hardworking and reflective. The successful candidate must be successful at creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere, developing and sustaining good working relationships and working wider than our setting, with our families, the community and the Trust. You will be supported by the Headteacher, senior colleagues, a supportive Governing board, and a strong Trust team, whilst being given creative freedom and autonomy to make a difference in the classroom.

West Buckland Primary School is a small, caring and nurturing school where every child is valued as part of the family. We are a four-class primary school, plus Nursery, located in a village setting near to Wellington.
