Downsview is a warm, welcoming, and diverse school where strong relationships built on kindness and respect create a vibrant sense of community. We nurture the whole child—body, mind, and spirit—by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning, while balancing academic excellence with personal growth. In our safe and supportive environment, children gain confidence, follow their passions, and are well prepared for a purposeful future.

We are now seeking a talented and dedicated Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our team in September 2025, as part of our commitment to providing an exceptional education for all learners.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and motivated teacher who can make a real impact during the final year of primary school and help prepare pupils for the transition to secondary education.

As a KS2 Class Teacher at Downsview, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching that inspires, challenges, and supports all learners.
  • Use a range of strategies to meet individual learning needs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and achievement.
  • Accurately assess and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform planning.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has recent and successful experience teaching in a Year 6 classroom.
  • Has strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum, particularly around end-of-key-stage assessment and transition.
  • Demonstrates outstanding classroom practice and a commitment to raising attainment.
  • Works well as part of a team, showing flexibility, initiative, and a proactive approach.
  • Is reflective, motivated, and committed to ongoing professional development.
  • Is willing to contribute to wider school life, including running a club or enrichment activity.

In return, we offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive staff team with a shared vision for excellence.
  • Well-behaved, enthusiastic children who love learning.
  • High-quality professional development and mentoring.
  • A culture that values collaboration, trust, and ambition.
