KS2- KS3 Computing

Holy Mary British Catholic School started as a Nursery School here in Madrid through the vision of its founders, Marta and María Riva de Aldama. It was opened to cater for parents who wished their children to have a British style education based on Catholic values. It expanded due to great demand from parents and continued to provide education as a Primary School. Further pressure from parents resulted in the opening of the Secondary School. Currently, we are the only British Catholic School towards the centre of Madrid with around 670 students enrolled from Nursery to Year 13. We are a committed member of NABSS, CISC and ACADE.

Holy Mary British Catholic School has three more years of expansion and continuous school improvement to plan. Our curriculum is creative and inclusive, and we count on fantastic teachers and children, together with highly supportive parents. The school promotes a warm, family atmosphere, and we are seeking to recruit outstanding, inspirational class teachers to join our team of dedicated, talented, and enthusiastic professionals.

We are searching for a teacher of KS2 & KS3 Computing. The successful candidate will either be a secondary computing specialist willing to teach KS2 classes, or, a primary computing specialist willing to teach KS3 classes.

Suitable candidates will have:

-         At least 2 years teaching experience of primary/secondary computing

-         British or EU citizenship (we will help to acquire any necessary work permit)

-         Qualified teacher status

-         Experience and ability to share your expertise with primary colleagues

-         A curiosity towards and proactive tolerance of difference and change

-         A commitment towards the safeguarding of all young people

Applicants should have:

-         The ability to inspire young people (and their teaching colleagues!)

-         Excellent interpersonal skills

-         An excellence as a classroom practitioner who is caring, enthusiastic and committed

-         High expectations of the achievement and behaviour of all children

-         Good organizational and administrative skills

-         A diligent work ethic

-         An awareness of the research findings of John Hattie and Carol Dweck

-         A supportive attitude towards our Catholic ethos
