Focus School Long Eaton Campus is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and outstanding KS2 Lead Practitioner to join their small and friendly team, on a full time, permanent basis. You will be responsible for inspiring and motivating our Key Stage 2 students to achieve at the highest levels whilst supporting the development of all learners. 

You will work alongside teaching colleagues under the direction of the KS2 Lead and Head Teacher, as a lead mentor and coach, ensuring the best possible progress for all children. 

This position would suit a conscientious and hard-working individual who is passionate about education, pays meticulous attention to detail, is a strong team player and who wishes to maintain our learning environment to the highest standard. Key Responsibilities:

• Improving the quality of teaching whilst being accountable for ensuring standards are improved and maintained with individual teachers, working to targets and expectations agreed with the senior leadership team 

• To lead KS2 across the school and support other members of staff in their roles 

• Observe teachers in line with the school’s observation and feedback procedures in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning

• Work with senior leaders to develop the ongoing training and staff development activities to ensure staff have the skills and confidence to deliver high quality teaching 

• Deliver demonstration lessons, modelling excellent and innovative pedagogical practice

• Plan for CPD and training that reflects the teaching and learning policy and other key curriculum and pedagogical developments

• Contribute to the positive and effective management of behaviour across the school 

• Work with subject leaders and key stage leaders to support with action plans

• Differentiating to provide support for students with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) and challenge for those who are gifted and talented

• Using a variety of teaching strategies to motivate and challenge students, and ensure high levels of interest

• Developing approaches to Self-Directed Learning and use technology to support learning

You will:

• Be highly motivated and an excellent classroom practitioner 

• Have prior experience of working in a lead role within KS2

• Have an up to date knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum and assessment framework

• Enjoy being part of a supportive team

• Be caring and enthusiastic
