Blundell’s Preparatory School

Independent Day School For Boys and Girls aged 2½ - 11 years

Smiling faces and enthusiastic children make Blundell’s Pre-Prep and Nursery a wonderfully stimulating, happy place in which to learn.

Blundell’s Pre-Prep has a very special atmosphere. The school is small enough to care for every child as an individual, with his or her own particular strengths and needs and pastoral care is recognized as outstanding. The school is also large enough to provide the facilities and equipment required for a first class education and to compete strongly regionally and nationally. Well equipped classrooms with excellent IT provision allow children to experience top class education in the modern world.

Blundell’s Nursery and Pre-Prep are housed in their own, purpose–built building. The emphasis is on a warm caring environment where our young learners can feel safe and flourish. Both the Nursery and Pre-Prep have safe, enclosed playgrounds many of which are attached to their classrooms, as well as offering access to the beautiful surrounds of our extensive grounds.

The early years of education are vital and we endeavour to lay firm foundations in a supportive, structured and sympathetic environment that will enable children to grow in knowledge, skills and confidence.

We have a very generous staff to pupil ratio within small classes. Our well-qualified teachers are inspirational professionals, who are friendly and approachable.

As children progress through Blundell’s Preparatory School they follow an educational programme tailored to try and ensure that each child‘s potential is fulfilled. We encourage children to aim high. Academic achievement and competitive sport are important, but we also place a great deal of emphasis on developing well-rounded individuals. We want children to be confident, considerate and caring for others which is reflected in the school’s motto ‘non sibi’, not for one’s self. 85% of our children flow through to Blundell’s Senior School but we also prepare successfully for other schools. We encourage parents to look at our latest inspection report which will appear on our web-site from September.
