KS2 Maths Teacher

Tes are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational KS2 Maths Teacher (with class teacher responsibilities) on a full-time permanent basis from September 2021. This role is not suitable for NQTs.

It is an independent girls’ preparatory school (ages 4 – 11) of 420 girls set in a tranquil residential square in Notting Hill. The school are seeking to appoint a Maths specialist to teach girls in Years 5 and 6, combined with class teacher responsibilities and associated teaching of other subjects. Experience of preparing children in Maths at 11+ for independent senior school transition would be an advantage, though not essential.

The Successful Candidate:

• Honours degree in a relevant subject
• Teaching qualification together with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience of teaching children in the age range appropriate to the post
• Ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children
• Able to use an appropriate range of teaching and learning strategies
• An understanding of how assessment for learning can improve student performance
• A confident and competent user of ICT
• Ability to use student assessment data to raise standards in Maths
• Subject knowledge in Maths sufficient to challenge able students and achieve high outcomes
• A good understanding of curriculum developments in relevant subjects, including National Strategies
