KS2 Primary Teacher

Coruña British International School is a highly distinguished British international school the first in the city to gain NABSS (National Association for British Schools in Spain) accreditation. The school’s curriculum has been fully approved by both the Galician Government and the British Council, and is considered to be, alongside its sister school in Vigo, one of the foremost British schools in the Galicia region.

Founded more than 8 years ago this progressive school with strong family values has delivered the English National Curriculum to hundreds of students and has evolved to meet the needs of modern learners. Students aged three to 14 attend the school and follow the National English Early Years Framework and the English National Curriculum.

We wish to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic specialist teacher of primary, for September 2024. The successful applicant will be able to teach across the primary age and ability range. We are looking for someone to join an experienced and successful primary team who has a passion for developing high quality teaching and learning which ensures excellent student progress and engagement. A practitioner who can confidently lead Mathematics across the Primary school would be advantage.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• A first degree and a PGCE in primary or a Primary Education degree.
• A P.G.C.E. or equivalent UK Teacher Education qualification.
• Proficient level of English (Mother tongue / C2).
• Experience in teaching at a British School.
• As least 2 years as a primary teacher.
• Strength in Mathematics

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure planning, preparation, assessment, and reporting meet students' diverse needs.
• Plan engaging, challenging lessons for consistent progress.
• Address all students' needs, including Special Educational Needs, with appropriate interventions.
• Maintain efficient records, integrating assessments per school policy.
• Adhere to department policies on curriculum, feedback, behavior, and resources.
• Maintain good order and discipline in line with the school's behaviour policy, inside and outside the classroom.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents.
• Participate in school meetings and comply with all relevant policies.
• Ensure student safety and wellbeing.
