This KS2 SEND Teacher position is a vacancy with the potential to become a fixed term contract or even a  permanent role, should the assignment be successful and the staff member recruited pass internal recruitment processes.  

QTS required

£125 refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme (must have worked 50 days to claim)

Salary is dependent on experience, training, scale point or qualifications

You must hold a valid teaching qualification as well as demonstrate the skills, patience and teaching strategies to reach and inspire ‘harder to reach’ young people, engage and differentiate effectively taking of SEND, including Autism.

Team Teach Training is desirable but not essential  (Vision offer free training

The successful candidate will teach a small class of learners (Y5&6) with the support of two Teaching Assistants

The successful applicant for this KS2 SEND Teacher role will skilfully manage challenging behaviours, utilising the most recent research and techniques, including nurture model principles and restorative practice.

This particular Primary SEND & SEMH Teacher role is based in Wakefield, in an easily accessible location, commutable by car from Leeds, South Yorkshire and Kirklees .

The Role for this KS2 SEND Teacher position:

We are currently recruiting for a Teacher to provide additional teaching support to students at SEND schools and PRU's across West Yorkshire. This role is due to commence in May/ June 2020 for a specialist provision in Wakefield.

To be considered for this position you must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), however we would also be interested to speak to FE Teachers and Tutors in connection with other relevant posts. 

This role is to work with a class of 6-8 children with complex SEND and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health needs). This setting offers high quality provision and sets high standards of education, care and achievement for its children and young people, with support of senior leaders. 

Medium and long term planning is in place, however full daily lesson planning, assessment and planning for progression with be required. There is opportunity to collaborate on subject planning with colleagues.
