Job overview

Bosvigo School is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming school in the heart of Truro. We have 11 classes arranged into four extremely dedicated teams and are fully committed to our ethos of 'Valuing all, developing all'.

Our vision for Bosvigo School is led by the skills, knowledge and abilities we would like our children to have when they leave our school. Children should be confident, enthusiastic, resilient, independent and knowledgeable with a love of learning. They should have the understanding that their ability in all aspects of their life can be developed through hard work and dedication. They should have respect and compassion for others, with knowledge and understanding of the wider world, as well as their local community. We would like our children to be leaders both in school and out, with the confidence to engage with a range of people.

The governors of Bosvigo School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and driven Key Stage 2 teacher to cover maternity leave. Delivering the core curriculum in a Year 5/6 class one day a week and ICT and PE to cover PPA on a second day, ideally you will join our forward-thinking, supportive team from the Summer term.

We are looking for someone who will:

- be an excellent classroom practitioner

- inspire pupils by providing a broad range of learning experiences

- display warmth, care and sensitivity in supporting children

- secure excellent progress for all learners through effective teaching and learning strategies

We can offer:

- a school with a friendly, welcoming and positive atmosphere

- a creative, child-centred approach to teaching and learning

- the opportunity to develop within a highly collaborative team of hugely committed teachers
