This role is covering maternity leave starting in April 2022 until March 2023 in the first instance.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive independent school, based in Snaresbrook, London. The school is looking to add a KS2 Teacher to its progressive and supportive school ideally starting in April 2022.

The role will include teaching and coordinating the delivery of KS2 including class teaching and intervention. You will support the Head to enhance provision and will get the chance to get involved with exciting project work throughout the year. Project work will include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. You’ll also lead by example, supporting learners to achieve to the best of their ability and you’ll enjoy that great feeling when your learners achieve grades beyond their dreams.

“The Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced class teacher for maternity cover in Upper Key Stage 2. We are looking for someone who can work well with a certain degree of independence, who has an innovative ‘growth’ mindset, a commitment to excellent practice, a holistic outlook on pupil development and who will be fully involved in the life of this forward-looking and dynamic school. The safety, wellbeing, happiness and fulfilment of all pupils is paramount to Forest Prep’s mission; we have a comprehensive system of pastoral care and robust safeguarding procedures. The successful candidate will need to have an up-to-date awareness and knowledge of all matters relating to safeguarding. They will also need to be able to quickly build positive relationships and rapport with pupils of the relevant age group, whilst always setting and maintaining appropriate boundaries and promoting the highest standards of behaviour and courtesy. The position will require the successful applicant to teach the 'core' subjects of Maths, Science and English to their class as well as one or more of the humanities, PSHE and possibly to others. The Prep School has a number of subject specialist teachers who will teach their pupils a range of other subjects, which include Engineering, Mandarin, Drama, Music and Dance. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to teach a variety of classes each term, in addition to the home class, in order to support staff development.

The successful candidate will model a passion for learning and be able to nurture all pupils’ curiosity and desire to advance their knowledge of the world. They will deliver engaging lessons that support and challenge pupils of all achievement levels. In addition, the Prep School offers a varied and extensive co-curriculum, consisting of timetabled activities and clubs both during and after the school day. The successful candidate would be able to make a valuable contribution to this co-curricular offer, drawing on their own interests and talents.”

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A relevant Education Degree or a related subject

• Experience in delivering KS2, successfully engaging learners to progress

• A love and passion for education.
