Job overview

Middlestown Primary Academy are seeking to appoint a talented and creative teacher to add to our KS2 team. To be successful, you will be hard working with the ability to work effectively in collaboration with your designated year group partner and other colleagues.

You will need to demonstrate consistently good or better teaching, and will motivate and inspire pupils whilst setting high expectations. We encourage teachers to play an active role in the wider part of the school where you will be supported by a team of friendly staff and lovely children.

At Middlestown Primary Academy, we strive to create an environment where pupils enjoy learning and are given the opportunity to stretch themselves both academically and also through a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our success is founded on traditional values set in a warm, friendly environment.

Applications are welcomed from teachers across the experience range; we offer an extensive programme of academy and Trust CPD, to help you grow and develop as an excellent practitioner - whether NQT or more experienced.

The Accord Multi Academy Trust is a Wakefield based Trust; all four academies in the Trust are closely located to one another which lends itself to many opportunities to work closely and collaboratively. All academies are within a three-mile radius of one another and can be found a short drive off junction 40 of the M1.

We encourage interested candidates to get in touch and have a discussion to see what makes us great! Contact the HR team by email: hr@accordmat.org who would be happy to answer any questions you may have, or put you in touch with an appropriate colleague for an informal discussion regarding the role.

For more details, or if you’re ready to apply, visit: https://accordmat.org/opportunities/ where you will find the application form available to download. Please return completed application forms to the Accord HR Department by email: hr@accordmat.org

Closing date: 9:00am on Monday, 17 May 2021.

Interview date: w/c 17 May 2021.

Middlestown Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.

Middlestown Primary Academy is a mixed nursery, infant and junior academy, situated in a rural village close to Wakefield, and set within expansive grounds.

The academy has a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which aims to ensure that children are engaged in their learning and above all enjoy coming to school. It benefits from enthusiastic, caring and professional staff who work hard to ensure this happens.

The academy wants every child to reach their potential, with a lifelong love of learning, offering pupils, not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life.

Being at the heart of the community and enjoying good support from all stakeholders, it understands that partnership is an important aspect to the ongoing development of schools and academies. With this in mind, it works alongside Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form, Horbury Academy and Horbury Primary Academy as part of the Accord Multi Academy Trust.

The vision of this partnership is to enhance both practice and knowledge of learning across primary and secondary education, whilst also providing access for pupils and staff to an even better range of opportunities in order to achieve excellence.

Headteacher: Mrs H Young
