This is an exciting opportunity to teach at Yarrells, an independent co-educational preparatory school for children between the ages of 2-13 years. The school has a wonderful history of nurturing young people to develop their abilities no matter where they might lie. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join an already thriving and successful department. Our pupils are happy, curious and have a delightful, unselfconscious thirst for learning. Maths is an exciting, challenging and engaging core subject at Yarrells; our teachers nurture and develop confidence in the individual so that our pupils are able to relish intellectual challenge across the age and ability range. We are a non-selective school and work tirelessly to meet the needs of pupils of all academic abilities. We hold an enviable track record of successful entry to local grammar schools at 11+ and prepare many pupils for scholarships to secondary settings.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach maths to Years 3 – 6, and the ability to teach computing and/or sport would be an advantage. However, the successful securing of the post is not dependent on these latter subjects. We are a warm, active school community and our staff all contribute to the wider curriculum as well as engage enthusiastically in our activities beyond classroom lessons.
