The Governors at Kingsway Park High School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Geography who has a real passion for their subject.

Until recently the Humanities subjects – History, Geography and RE were in a large Humanities Department. As a temporary arrangement there are now 3 discrete Humanities subjects that work closely together and share the same work area and learning environment. The facilities and resources are excellent.

This exciting new post is a crucial one with the capacity to work effectively across all 3 Humanities subjects at KS3 in order to raise standards, aspirations and attitudes towards the Humanities subjects. Ideally the candidate needs to be able to teach some KS3 Geography and/or History/RE.

The successful candidate will have a high quality induction programme and will be fully supported in their professional learning and development.

This post is suitable for someone wishing to broaden their Humanities experience. Ideally the ability to teach Geography would be a real strength. The successful candidate will mainly each KS3 Humanities (Geography and possibly some History and/or RE).

The role will involve raising aspirations, standards and attitudes in KS3 Humanities subjects and encouraging students to opt for a Humanities subject at KS4. If the successful candidate, at a later date, wishes to teach KS4 Geography that will be offered.

For an excellent or an experienced practitioner, a recruitment and retention allowance will be available.
