GEMS Winchester School, Fujairah. Our brand new, state of the art school will open its doors for the first time in September 2016 offering the National curriculum for England from KG1 – Y8.

KS3 Leader of Learning and CPD Mentor/Coach

From September 2016 we are looking for a KS3 Leader of Learning who will be responsible for leading and managing the team of KS3 teachers and support staff at our brand new Winchester School, Fujairah. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of highly effective teaching and successful outcomes at KS3/4 and some experience of leadership and management at secondary level.

This position would suit an existing Head of Department or a secondary key stage leader in a high achieving school with a proven track record of mentoring/coaching staff and a positive impact on their professional development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing the curriculum, pedagogy and practice for this important learning stage.
  • Leading a team of teachers and support staff to deliver the highest standards of teaching and the most effective learning environment from the very beginning so that KS3 students make rapid and sustained progress
  •  Leading and managing CPD, mentoring and coaching for all staff, in particular NQTs and teachers who are new to the British curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Ensuring literacy and numeracy practices are coordinated across the whole school.

  • The skills and knowledge to contribute to whole school improvement.
  • A passion for raising expectations and aspirations in colleagues and students alike.
  • An excellent understanding of how to use assessment and data to move the school forward with a proven track record in this area.
  • A demonstrable commitment to balancing pupils’ academic achievements with their wellbeing.
