Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is a new 6FE local comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-18. When the school opens in September 2018 it will have a smaller intake, of 125 Year 7 students, for the first two years whilst co-located at William Perkin CE High School in Greenford before this figure increases to 196 students per year group when the school moves to its permanent site in Ealing. It will have 1,330 students when full. William Perkin, an Ofsted Outstanding school, is one of four Twyford Trust schools, and the new post-holder will be joining us at a time of growth; the organisation therefore offers exciting development opportunities and good promotion prospects for motivated and energetic teachers who support the ethos of the Trust.

The position of KS3 Maths Co-ordinator is an exciting opportunity for an innovative teacher and curriculum planner who is looking to take on a role within departmental leadership. The successful candidate will have responsibility for leading the department in terms of curriculum planning and progress monitoring for KS3 students, and will work closely with our established and experienced Maths team at William Perkin to ensure that a comprehensive wider learning offer is in place for KS3 students. The new post-holder may also initially take on some Maths teaching at William Perkin.

Ada Lovelace will share William Perkin’s innovative curriculum model. As an EBACC subject, all students in key stages 3 and 4 will have a 50-minute Maths lesson every day. The Practical and Creative subject options, known as the Electives, take place in the afternoon. The elective subject areas are Art, Music, Sport, Creative Technologies and the Application of Science. We additionally offer core elective numeracy classes in the afternoons to help our students who need extra support in Maths, and will offer a variety of extended electives, for example Chess Club and UKMT training.

For more information about the school please see the Ada Lovelace CE High School website.  For more information about the role please see the Job Description on the Twyford Trust website at:  http://www.twyfordacademies.org.uk/recruitment/vacancies

About Ada Lovelace Church of England High School

Ada Lovelace Church of England High School is the newest school in the Twyford CE Academies Trust having moved into its brand-new permanent site in north Ealing in September 2020. The school has now reached full capacity, educating just over 1050 students across years 7 to 13. Ada Lovelace is named after the Victorian pioneer of computing and has a specialism in Digital Technologies which has led to the launch of T-levels at the school in Digital Production, Design and Development as well as Laboratory Science. A new T-level in Accounting will be offered from 2025. Being part of the top-performing Multi-Academies Trust in the UK has enabled Ada Lovelace to achieve outstanding GCSE results with a Progress 8 score of +1.33 in 2023 and +1.4 in 2024. Whilst the school has a strong Christian ethos, its admissions policy is open rather than faith-based and the school is heavily oversubscribed. It is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (January 2023) and is due to be inspected by SIAMS in the 2024/25 academic year. More information can be found on the school website: https://adalovelace.org.uk/
