Job overview

We are looking for a KS4 English Co-ordinator in a school which offers excellent opportunities for professional development. Ealing Fields High School was opened as a Free School in 2016, and became part of the Twyford CE Academies Trust on 1st September 2017. Ealing Fields is the smallest of the Trust schools, with 150 in each Year Group and therefore has a very compact community identity. The school now has five Year Groups (7 - 11) totalling 700 students in September, and the staff community, though still small, is very positive and highly motivated. The school moved to its brand new permanent site in Northfields in September 2020.

The main purpose of this post is to support the delivery of outstanding outcomes in the KS4 English curriculum and to develop the department’s wider curricular offer. The new post-holder will work closely with the Head of Department and 2 i/c English, both of whom have already led on setting up a curriculum which gives continuity from Year 7 to Year 11, including progression through the new syllabuses.

The role will include development work on curriculum, assessment and teaching & learning, and the post-holder will also have the opportunity to build on and develop the wider curricular offer, drawing on students’ interest and enthusiasm for the subject. 

This is an exciting role for enthusiastic teachers as we prepare our students for GCSE and beyond (the school’s first full GCSEs will be in 2022). The post is ideally suited to a teacher who is passionate about curriculum design and development, especially at KS4. The post-holder will be joining an innovative and energetic staff group that seeks to deliver an outstanding curriculum, and will be well supported by an experienced Senior Leadership Team.

The Twyford Trust

The Twyford Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community.
