This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with the other three schools in the MAT – Bury C of E High School, Canon Slade School and Bolton St Catherine’s Academy; sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress.

We are looking to recruit a L2 Teaching Assistant on a permanent basis, starting ASAP.

Main Duties: 

The postholder will work under the direction and guidance of the Head of Learning Support with groups and individuals to improve pupil learning and achievement. This will involve liaising with subject teachers, supporting identified pupils in lessons and evaluating their learning needs. Work will mainly be carried out in classrooms, although you may be supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis elsewhere. It will be necessary at times to support pupils outside lesson times where appropriate.


The successful candidate will be someone who:

·       enjoy working as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff;

·       be committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of pupils with special needs;

·       quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with both our young people and colleagues;

·       enthuse and motivate colleagues and students to work hard and try their best;

·       show an understanding of special educational needs within a school setting (including autistic spectrum, learning difficulties, behavioural and emotional difficulties);

·       Previous experience of working with children aged 11 -16 in an education setting is desirable but full training will be provided;

·       demonstrate personal resilience and role model those personal qualities we wish to instill in our young people.


The working hours will be:

8:40am-3:15pm Mo,Tu,Th,Fr

8:40am – 3:05pm We
