Job Purpose:
The Lab Technician supports the smooth running of science laboratories across Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. The role involves preparing materials for lessons, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized lab environment for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, and materials for science lessons as required.

• Assist teachers during practical sessions when needed.

• Prepare basic solutions (acids, bases, salts) following standard procedures.

• Ensure all chemicals are stored, handled, and disposed of safely in line with guidelines.

• Clean up spills safely and maintain general lab cleanliness.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and arrange for minor repairs where needed.

• Clean and sterilize glassware and equipment after use.

• Keep track of laboratory supplies and inform the department when stock needs replenishing.

• Support with ordering materials and keeping simple inventory records.

• Help supervise students during practical activities when required.

• Provide basic support and guidance to students in the lab.

• Assist with general school activities such as field trips if needed.

• Carry out other reasonable tasks as required.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred

• Good Knowledge of laboratory safety practices

Skills:

• Good communication skills in English

• Organized and detail-oriented

• Able to work well within a team

• Comfortable working in a school environment with students
