Job overview

The post holder is jointly responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing the work of the Autism and Social Communication Inclusion Team and its work with identified children and young people from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4. In addition to providing this peripatetic service, the successful candidate will be upskilled in supporting the SEND and Statutory processes identified within the Jersey Code of Practice through a school cluster model of delivery under the lead of a SEND Advisory teacher. This will involve attendance at priority Annual Reviews, collaborative team work around complex cases, working alongside SENCOS, attending SENCO and Cluster meetings and being involved in the work involved with the SEND Request and Outcome Panels.

We are looking for an indivual to deliver a peripatetic service for children in mainstream schools and nurseries who have been identified as having an autism spectrum condition or social communication difficulties. This will involve supporting pupils (Foundation Stage to Key Stage 4), families and setting staff across the island.

About Jersey

The Bailiwick of Jersey is a self-governing Crown Dependency, and this has implications for its education system. Schools here operate under Jersey Education Law, which differs from that of the UK.

Our schools follow the Jersey Curriculum, which is based on the English National Curriculum, but with adaptations that enable us to include the study of Jersey’s unique history, geography, and political system.

London is only 30 minutes away by air and France is a mere 14 miles to the east. Jersey is a unique place to live and work, particularly if you and your family enjoy an outdoor and community-focused lifestyle.
