About the Role

Ideally, the candidate will be apprentice trained with a minimum of 6 years experience in the industry. They will hold a relevant Level 4 qualification in the subject area along with a teaching qualification. Additionally, an assessor qualification would be an advantage, however we will support any candidate in achieving this award.

Experience in teaching at Level 3 in a Mechanical / Electrical Engineering environment would be pre-requisite.

What You Will Do

  • The job role will be geared around supporting Level 3 Engineering Apprentices to achieve relevant engineering qualifications, which would be based around the following teaching elements..
  • Health & Safety, Communications, Mechanical Principles, Electrical Principles, CAD, CAM, Lean Manufacturing, Mechanical Maintenance, Pneumatics & Hydraulics, Fluid Power and Mechanical Fault Diagnosis.
  • Plus workshop based teaching in Fitting, Turning, Milling, CNC and basic electrical & Mechanical repair.
  • It is expected that the candidate will have some experience of the above elements but obviously not all.
  • Assessing students in the workplace would form 1 or two days weekly, having a small cohort to manage.

About You

  • Hold Assessor and Verification Awards TAQA
  • Experience of teaching, training peers or transferring skills to others.
  • Substantial work experience in a relevant occupational area
  • Understanding and experience of current working practices within the occupational area.
