Do you have experience of working with young people aged 11 – 18 and are looking for your next challenge?

The Trinity Catholic School have an exciting new role as a Lead Cover Supervisor who will combine the role with Sports Coaching.

Working in our existing dedicated and successful support team, initially this post will manage the administration and organisation of staff cover within the school alongside the leading of afterschool sports clubs.

In the absence of a Teacher of PE the successful post holder will be expected to cover PE lessons. This role would be ideal for an aspiring PE teacher or a candidate with a sporting background looking for a rewarding career working with young people.

You will ensure a high standard of lesson cover is achieved and it is anticipated that in due course you will line manage a team Cover Supervisors.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week, on a term time only basis. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will run sports clubs afterschool three times per week.

About the role

As Lead Cover Supervisor/Sports Coach you will:

  • Lead the organisation and administration of cover.
  • Be a point of contact for staff regarding covering lessons
  • Lead bespoke training for cover supervisors.
  • Support the learning of students under the direction of a class teacher.
  • Support the schools sporting offer.

  • Ability to manage a classroom
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and to prioritise tasks.
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Ability to be firm but fair in a classroom situation
