Barnsley academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Lead Facilities Officer. The academy is part of United Learning, a national group of schools and academies. Barnsley Academy is an 11-16 secondary.  As part of United Learning our aim is to bring out ‘the Best in Everyone’ and we continuously strive to ensure that students and staff have every opportunity to succeed, with their potential developed to the utmost.

 

The successful candidate will have responsibility to ensure good Facilities/Premises practice is provided in-line with the academy’s and United Learning’s policies and procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to join a team of Facilities personnel working over the Yorkshire Cluster of United Learning; the successful candidate will predominantly be based and line manage the Facilities Teams and Cleaning Supervisor at Barnsley Academy.

 

This role requires a focussed individual that is organised and passionate about making a difference for our academy and for the local community. The post-holder will deliver a good level of Facilities/Premises provision with a hands-on approach to undertake the work and have the ability to delegate and motivate a Facilities and Cleaning team.

 

Experience is crucial to this role. Candidates must have good organisational and communication skills, be self-motivated and a team player.

We are looking for a Lead Facilities Officer who is:

 

  • Reliable, highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Experienced with an excellent knowledge and understanding of good facilities management.
  • Keen on attention to detail, has high standards and takes pride in their work.
  • Keen to be part of a collaborative team of staff in our cluster of schools.
  • A team player with good communication skills.
  • Flexible to support various events happening during opening and out of hours.
  • Someone with good maintenance and practical skills.
