Job overview

Our Vision for School Chaplaincy in the Diocese of Nottingham is that:

‘Every school will have access to Lay Chaplaincy provision so that through the work of Lay Chaplaincy everyone in our schools will: have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and His life changing love for them; and the opportunity to respond to His calling.’

We need the right person to help us to achieve this vision. This exciting new role has arisen due to the formation of our 22 catholic school multi academy trust in Leicestershire - the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust.

Are you looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to positively impact the lives of over 8000 young people ranging in age from 4 to 18 years old?  Reporting to the executive committee for the Trust, you will be responsible for leading and developing Lay Chaplaincy across the Trust by working with the existing strong group of lay chaplains in our schools and developing new opportunities for the benefit of our young people.

The Application pack including various forms, the Job Description, Person Specification and a document detailing the Vision for the Development of School Chaplaincy in the Diocese of Nottingham are below.  This role is a fixed term post for a period of 3 years initially.

If you are interested in applying for this role, you will need to complete all the papers as detailed  and also write a short letter (no more than 2 sides of A4) describing how your skills and experience make you the ideal candidate.

Please note that it is a requirement of the role that you are practising Catholic and therefore one of your referees must be your Parish Priest / Priest in the parish where you regularly worship.

Please forward all completed paperwork to Mrs P Cooper, HR Manager at pcooper@aquinas-cmat.org by no later than 12 noon on Monday 3rd December 2018.

The St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory references, which will be requested, prior to interview, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.
