Lead Liaison Librarian


Permanent; Full Time, TTO (plus some holiday working requirement)

37.5 hours per week

Due to continued growth at Haileybury, we have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Liaison Librarian to manage the Library Team and ensure a smooth running of the Information and Knowledge Service is upheld. This post will also include supporting the Director of Learning and Research to develop an overview and strategy for the Haileybury Information and Knowledge Service each year.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide information and research skills for pupils and teachers in the form of lessons and one to one support, along with developing resources to support academic departments and the International Baccalaureate diploma. The Lead Liaison Librarian will run appropriate societies and groups, along with developing the use and profile of special collections and Archive.

The post will support the Director of Learning and Research in meeting the strategic plan for Learning and Research through the Haileybury Information and Knowledge Service Librarian. They are also required to have a degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies or Chartered Librarian.

The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours per week along with covering evening duties once a week (approx. 2 hours, dinner included). The nature of a 24hr a day, 7 days per week boarding school requires staff to work flexibly and there may be a requirement for the jobholder to work reasonable additional hours and early mornings, school holidays, evenings and weekends.
