We’re looking for a passionate Lead Maths Teacher to join our supportive school in Cannock.

You’ll shape the direction of the maths department while delivering engaging lessons that inspire students. 

As a leader, you’ll develop the curriculum, support fellow teachers, and create a positive classroom environment that builds students' confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-informed lessons that meet the 

    individual needs of pupils, including those with SEND and trauma histories.

  • Use assessment data to monitor pupil progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.

  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, consistent with the school’s behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and specialist staff to provide effective support.

Requirements

  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability, and 

    passion for supporting vulnerable pupils

  • Commitment to professional conduct, safeguarding, and the Staff Code of Conduct

  • Ability to plan, deliver, and assess effective teaching and learning.

  • Strong understanding of curriculum, assessment, and behaviour management in special education settings

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a SEND setting or similar provision

  • QTS/QTLS
