SEND & Inclusion Team
We are looking to appoint 3 Lead Practitioners to join our growing SEN team.
You will be a key member of the team of practitioners responsible for the education and care of the children in the school. You will be involved in contributing to the teaching and learning programme in accordance with the ethos, aims and objectives of the school. The Teacher and the Teaching Assistant work as a team - being ‘partners’ in supporting the students’ access to learning and the whole curriculum (including the National Curriculum) and their independence as learners. You may be required to work with groups or individuals from a class without the presence of the class teacher and supervise activities and tasks.
Purpose of Post:
Take a lead role within the Department and wider school on one of the following key areas of Special Educational Needs:
• Communication and interaction.
• Cognition and learning.
• Sensory and/or physical.
To include identification of students with SEN, running effective intervention programmes, supporting the Teaching Assistant team and being a keyworker to an identified group of ‘EHCP’ students. A key purpose of this role is to identify and work with ‘SEN Support’ and ‘EHCP’ students to address their needs across Key Stage 3 and 4. There is also the opportunity to lead on an area of personal strength or experience in line with whole school priorities.
