We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Lead Practitioner for English to develop and implement teaching and learning strategies throughout the English Department. You will be an outstanding English teacher with a proven track record of raising attainment. Evidence of outstanding outcomes enables you to model and coach techniques to a variety of audiences. You will be an aspiring or experienced leader with the ability to develop our English team to even greater success.
The English department is well-resourced and with a recent track record of excellent outcomes. The department is privileged to have the role of Lead Practitioner, which we are looking to fill, alongside the Subject Leader and Key Stage Leads. The department facilitates extra support for students in the form of a GCSE Intervention Partner and works with many local organisations to offer extra reading classes. You will be enhancing the team across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
We believe in developing our staff and have a dynamic and supportive management team. We also spend much of our time looking at what we can learn from other successful schools. The focus of our CPD programme draws on what research and pedagogical literature tells us works best in the classroom and we believe in coaching every teacher to be their very best. We are at an exciting time in our school development.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will need to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.
