We currently have the following vacancy at Wey Valley Academy, Dorchester Road, Weymouth, Dorset, DT3 5AN – Lead Practitioner – English

We are looking for a Lead Practitioner who:

• Has a passion for their subject and the ability to make their subject come alive with inspirational and interactive lessons which challenge and support all pupils to secure the best outcomes
• Can lead on a highly successful Reading Strategy and continue to improve levels of literacy across all curriculum areas
• Is an excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge
• Demonstrates ambitious standards and has high expectations for all regarding literacy, with a focus on improving reading ages across all year groups
• Has a record of raising standards across key stages 3 and 4
• Has excellent organisation and interpersonal skills which motivate students and staff
• Can drive forward strategic priorities and translate these into practical actions, specifically around the planning and implementation of high-quality interventions
• Demonstrates professionalism consistent with the Trust’s values: aspirational, collaborative, inclusive, innovative and responsible underpinned with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
