Lead Practitioner for Key Stage 1 and Early Reading

Part Time: 0.6-0.8 FTE

Main Pay Range/UPS

This position is part of an established Rapid Improvement Team and will play a key role in helping to shape school improvement within the Trust.  The teachers will be expected to have a high impact across a number of our academies. They will work flexibly across the Trust to meet identified and changing needs and to ensure rapid improvement in the quality of teaching and learning and the Early Reading Strategy and Key Stage 1 practice.

Our ideal candidates will be consistently good/outstanding primary teachers with experience of working with at least one of the end of key stage classes (EYFS, Year 2). We are particularly keen to hear from teachers who are passionate about teaching and learning and making a difference to each child. We would welcome applications from teachers who choose not to work full time at this stage in their personal and professional lives. However you must be highly committed to teaching, relish a challenge and want to continue to develop your skills to make a significant contribution to the progress and development of children.

We offer:

  • A strong supportive network of schools
  • Access to high quality CPD within the Trust and with partners
  • Opportunity to work in a range of contexts and localities
  • Opportunity to work flexibly

In return we expect you to:

  • Play a full part in school life eg staff meetings
  • Attend inset days
  • Provide after school interventions where required

We currently have 16 primary academies, 8 secondary academies and one primary aged special school in our family of schools. All of our schools benefit from the collaboration and added value that being a member of our Trust offers, and share our values and beliefs. Spencer Trust academies share an ambition to deliver results that compete with the very highest performing schools in the country, and deliver a curriculum for students that is underpinned by breadth, opportunity and quality: one that seeks to give young people the opportunity to develop into well rounded global citizens that believe they can influence positive change in the world.
