LEAD PRACTITIONER FOR Mathematics

L5-10 

We wish to appoint for April or September 2017 a lead teacher with an outstanding track record to join our thriving school. Heartlands High School opened as a new school in September 2010 and is now looking forward to it’s third GCSE results after celebrating a second year of outstanding achievement. Heartlands High School Maths results are ranked in the top 5% for valued added in the country. We are seeking to recruit an outstanding lead teacher of Mathematics with the ability to raise the standards of teaching and learning to ensure outstanding outcomes for all students.   The post holder will be responsible for leading coaching and development, ITT, research into outstanding practice and work with local primary feeders to improve the standards of work on entry.

The successful candidate will be required to be:   ● Experienced in Mathematics teaching with at least four years of outstanding practice in the classroom ● Excellent knowledge of the latest research and the development of the subject at national level ● Passionate about the subject ● Prepared to apply for and be successful in an application as an SLE ● A team player able to work successfully with the Head of Mathematics and others in the department ● Ready to lead and develop the practice of others ● To help implement and train staff to deliver a new Mathematics mastery curriculum.

Support and development:

At Heartlands, we use School IP to track and support training and ongoing CPD. Depending on your need and level of experience, you will be placed on a training pathway.

The CPD plan is released in September each year and includes a range of internal training sessions before and after school as well as on inset days.
