Astrea Academy Sheffield (Secondary Phase) have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Practitioner for Science to join their team!

The Lead Practitioner will raise standards of scholar attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum area and work with the Head of Science to be accountable for scholar progress and development.

 

As a Lead Practitioner you will:


·      Work with colleagues to formulate aims, objectives and strategic plans for the department which have coherence and relevance to the needs of scholars and to the aims, objectives and strategic plans of the academy

·      Lead the physics curriculum from KS3 to KS5

·      Establish common standards of practice within the department and develop the effectiveness of teaching and learning in all subject areas within the department

Contribute to the planning function of the department, and to ensure that the planning activities of the department reflect the needs of scholars within the subject area, AIP and the aims and objectives of the academy.


We are looking for:

·      Qualified teacher status

·      Successful experience of teaching Science at KS3 & KS4

·      Degree or equivalent qualification in Science or a very closely related subject area

·      A level experience is desirable
