Start Date: Required for January 2020

Contract Type: Full Time

Contract Term: Permanent

Our school is a thriving 11-16 foundation comprehensive which is committed to challenge for all. We provide learning opportunities to allow everyone to develop their knowledge, skills and character so that they can become outstanding young adults.

We require an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspiring Lead Practitioner in English from January 2020 who will focus on developing teaching and learning within the English team and play a major role in the development of whole-school teaching and learning.  You will be under the direction of the curriculum deputy as part of the extended senior leadership team.

Our English department is housed in a newly refurbished suite of nine teaching rooms, each with state-of-the-art learning walls.

We recognise that the study of English requires that students see themselves as active participants in reading, understanding and creating. As such, the department offers pupils many opportunities to experience enrichment and extra-curricular activities.

We place huge value on staff CPD and invest to ensure required training is available. We are very proud that we have been particularly successful with middle leaders completing the NPQML and teaching leaders programme – with one colleague recently being awarded the teaching leaders special award.

To obtain an application pack, arrange a visit or for an informal chat about working at the school please contact Tracy Harrison at permanent@visionforeducation.co.uk or call on 0191 267 6555.  Further background information is available on our website:

http://www.hindleyhs.wigan.sch.uk/

The closing date is 12 noon on Monday 7th October 2019 and your completed application should be returned to Tracy Harrison via email before then to be considered.

Interviews will take place on Friday 11th October 2019.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will require an enhanced DBS check.
