Job overview

You might be an exceptional classroom teacher looking to develop your leadership experience and significantly influence the pedagogy and practice of others as a Lead Practitioner in Maths. Alternatively, you might be looking to widen your leadership experience or take your first steps into middle leadership. This could be the opportunity you are looking for!

We are seeking a motivated, committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our supportive team and make a significant difference to the students, through highly effective teaching, in a happy and thriving school.

Mathematics is a well-resourced department and is forward thinking in its curriculum and teaching approaches. The role involves working closely with the Director of Mathematics, developing current teaching practice, curriculum and assessment. Wider aspects of this role include coaching, mentoring and intervention. The department is represented on the ‘Sustaining Mastery NCETM Workgroup’ with the Turing NW Maths Hub. We have also run Axion Maths this year and been a part of the EEF Trial for Coachbright focussing on peer to peer coaching in Maths.

The post offers a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative, proactive faculty with opportunities to develop as a leader and teacher. There will be plentiful opportunities to further develop your curricular and co-curricular experiences.

Wellacre Academy is an 11–16 all-boys’ school in Trafford. We have high expectations for all our students, and our policies and practices are values-driven. Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students. We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables staff and students to thrive.

We are committed to the professional development of all our staff. The TDT Gold Award report said, ‘All staff feel supported to grow and develop in their careers, which is testament to the way in which leaders are continually seeking out new challenges and responsibilities for individual members of staff based on their strengths and needs.’ There is an excellent induction programme for all new staff in addition to opportunities for further professional development.

We are keen to ensure that you have as much information as possible to proceed with your application. Therefore, if you would like a conversation about life at Wellacre or the position advertised, please contact Mrs Stacey Partridge, Assistant Principal, by email: skearney@wellacre.org who will be happy to assist and answer any questions you may have. Alternatively, please visit our website: wellacre.org and our social media platforms to find out more about what we do and how we recognise and share the achievements of our students and staff:
