Job overview

Reddish Vale is looking to appoint an outstanding practitioner to join this highly motivated, hard-working and forward thinking department at an exciting time.

As a Lead Practitioner, you will help secure the highest standards of teaching and learning across the Academy and work within the department to enhance the new Key Stage 4 syllabus. The Lead Practitioner role is key to driving standards in the classroom and ensuring that teachers are supported to deliver exceptional teaching.

This role is for existing or aspiring lead practitioners at any stage in their careers who wish to coach and mentor other teachers. Successful teaching staff are often promoted within the Academy, so this role has the potential to be a step to senior leadership.

The post requires the ability to demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning in the classroom and to coach and mentor others in the department in order to raise standards.

An individually tailored timetable will be created for the successful candidate, allowing for coaching/mentoring time and to allow for the implementation of new strategies. Ideally, the successful candidate would possess:

•At least three years’ teaching experience.

•Evidence of coaching or mentoring within a department or across a school.

•Evidence of consistently outstanding teaching and learning within the classroom.

•Experience of delivering CPD to colleagues.

•Evidence of results; progress and attainment across Key Stage Three and Key Stage Four.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures and an enhanced DBS check.

The School is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all members of the community regardless of gender, age, marital status, disability, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.
