Job overview

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our team in South Warwickshire’s beautiful, Tudor town of Henley-in-Arden. Where better to teach mathematics than at the heart of the historic forest of Arden? Mathematics sits within the Faculty of Mathematics, Technology and Business, so you will benefit from joining a large team of supportive colleagues. We’re fortunate that our medieval, market-town location means we attract motivated and enthusiastic students from across Solihull, South Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

We’re expanding!

Due to record numbers of children joining us in recent years and being oversubscribed, we are increasing capacity in our mathematics leadership team with this newly created post. We're looking forward to reading letters of application from experienced teachers for whom we are delighted to be able to offer access to National College leadership programmes through our Teaching School partnerships, including NPQML and NPQSL.

Celebrating a third, consecutive year of record results (2019 provisional Mathematics P8 'Above Average' at +0.22), teachers that are passionate about teaching and learning will thrive here – join us in our relentless pursuit of ‘Achieving Excellence Together’.

This newly created post is resolutely focused on outstanding teaching and learning; as the job description details, you will be a role model in terms of your classroom routines, pedagogy and practice and will work closely with existing members of the department leadership team on identifying areas for improvement and creating consistently compelling learning experiences for students of mathematics at Henley.

Visits are welcome (and encouraged!) so that you may see for yourself why Ofsted recently reported that our thriving students have ‘...good attitudes to their work and are well behaved’ and that, ‘pupil attainment remains high and above national averages...[and] pupils make good progress across a wide range of subjects’ (November 2017).
