We are now looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner: Maths to play a leading role in the continuous improvement of teaching and learning in Maths and the development of our Maths curriculum. The main responsibility of the role will include:

 

·        supporting the delivery of the highest standard of teaching, learning and student progress

·        supporting the development of a range of effective teaching and learning pedagogy

·        supporting development of a high quality curriculum which supports and challenges students to make outstanding progress

·        collaborate with curriculum leaders and the wider Lead Practitioner team to quality assure teaching and learning across the school

 

This role provides an excellent opportunity for a member of staff to take on a senior role in the school.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

-      A passion for Maths including its position within the wider curriculum

-      The ability to deliver lessons that engage and inspire students, demonstrating excellent teaching practice

-      Confidence in teaching students in a variety of techniques and styles

-      Passion for pupil development and supporting them to achieve their best

-      A strong understanding of the secondary Maths curriculum

-      Keenness to lead and contribute to extra-curricular provision including competitions, Maths trips and visits and vocational events.

-      Experience of giving developmental feedback to colleagues

-      A critical understanding of development in the teaching and learning of Maths

 

Ultimately, we are looking for someone who is able to create a love for the Maths curriculum, develop student’s intellectual curiosity and produce the best possible outcomes for learners.
