Job overview

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented mathematics teacher to join us as a Lead Practitioner.

The Bishop of Llandaff is an 11-18 co-educational Church-in-Wales High School. Located in the heart of Llandaff, the school is heavily oversubscribed and students attend from all over the city and in the surrounding authorities. Standards at the school are very high. In 2019, our students achieved oustanding GCSE and A level results in the reformed qualifications, key performance measures and new specifications. However, the school is more than just about examination outcomes. Students take part in a broad range of activities that help them become "well-rounded" and our strong Christian ethos helps shape our students to become positive role models in our society. It genuinely is a happy place to learn and work!

As a lead practitioner, the successful candidate will support developments in teaching across the whole school, working with a team of three staff, including an Assistant Head (responsible for Teaching for Learning), and a lead practitioner in English and in science. The team is responsible for co-ordinating all training and developments in teaching across the school. The role also includes working closely with identified staff and departments to improve existing practice. In the last five years, four of our Lead Practitioners have moved on to promotion in other schools/institutions. Therefore, this is a role which offers an experienced and highly effective teacher a significant whole-school responsibility in preparation for further promotion within two/three years

Please download our application pack for more details. For an informal and confidential conversation please contact Marc Belli, Executive Headteacher at the school. Also, we welcome potential applicants to come and see us in action. We are open to visitors every day!

*Salary equivalent to the maximum point within the Lead Practitioner scale (LPS8).

Closing date for applications: 24th February 2020 at 12 noon.
