Lead Practitioner of Science

The Samuel Lister Academy is rapidly improving and is innovative in its technology rich environment with an Apple ICT solution throughout. The Academy was part of the Priority Schools Building Programme and moved into their brand new state-of-the-art buildings and facilities in March 2017.

We are looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner of Science who will work with the Achievement and Standards Leader Science to lead the quality of teaching and learning developments within Science and support with the development and running of the Science department. You will effectively line manage other staff within the departmental area, provide individual support and appropriate professional development as directed by the Achievement and Standards Leader Science. The post holder will be a member of the Academy’s Middle Leaders Group. All applicants should have the desire to work in an academy where there is a real opportunity to inspire the students and make a difference.

We are looking for:

• An excellent Science classroom practitioner who is passionate about attainment and progress of our students
• The ability to enthuse, inspire & motivate staff and students alike
• Experience of leading a team and significantly contributing to its success through leadership development, ethos, teaching and results.
