Westborough High School is an 11-16 comprehensive school with a passionate commitment to making a difference to children’s lives and ensuring that all students have the highest possible learning experience.

The school has a reputation for good educational standards, firm discipline and a caring ethos which focuses on the development of individuals.  An Ofsted inspection in June 2017 designated the school as Good where pupils ‘take their learning seriously and want to achieve well”.  Ofsted commended the school leadership team for providing “quality training for teachers’’ that ‘’is leading to better teaching and consistent strategies”.

We have a vibrant and successful science department which delivers a curriculum that is engaging, accessible and challenging for all .It is a real strength of the school with a culture of high academic achievement, this year 95% of pupils achieved A* - C in biology, chemistry and physics. Our progress 8 score for the EBacc pillar is +0.61, which is an outstanding achievement and testament to the hard work and expertise we have across the range of EBacc subjects.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Lead Practitioner of Science to contribute to the improvement of teaching, learning and assessment at a whole school level and to support the Team Leader for science to ensure consistency of classroom management and expectations across the department.
