Message from Department

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher of Mathematics for a full time post in our Maths department. The post is to commence in January 2022. We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified and outstanding Mathematics teacher who:

• Will provide both excellent teaching and also to lead on aspects of teaching and learning in the department. The ability to model excellent classroom practice and lead CPD for others to do the same is essential to this role. 

• Will do everything possible to raise the quality of teaching and learning in Mathematics and ultimately across the Academy. Our outcomes in GCSE Maths have been well above National average for the past three years and the successful candidate will have the skills and enthusiasm to make a significant contribution to our journey towards outstanding. 

• Believes in building strong relationships with our students and who is willing to go above and beyond to support them in being successful and helping them to meet their full potential. You would be expected to develop, plan and deliver highly effective learning experiences to all students across every key stage.


St Mark’s C of E Academy is a vibrant and diverse 11-18 academy situated in Mitcham in the London Borough of Merton. The school was rated Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection (November 2017) with Outstanding personal development and welfare. The Academy really does have much to celebrate. We are the first secondary school in London to be awarded the prestigious International Values Quality Mark in recognition of the manner in which our values of love, hope and trust permeate all our work. ‘The school’s provision for the personal development and welfare of pupils is outstanding.
