Required for September 2017, or Easter 2017 if possible, a dynamic, well-qualified and committed Lead Practitioner to join our Science department. This is both an exciting opportunity to join our extended Senior Leadership Team and an excellent preparation for future senior leadership positions. We would also welcome applications from candidates who feel they have the qualities of an emerging Lead Practitioner.
The Bromfords School and Sixth Form College is a school where students achieve well and are part of a strong, caring community. Our school’s ambition was recognised by Ofsted in May 2016 when it was stated that, “School leaders are ambitious. They want the school to become outstanding and they are doing the right things to achieve this.”
In 2016 50% of students achieved 5+A*-C GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, and progress in both English and Mathematics was in line with the national average.
The successful candidate will join a supportive Science team and continue the excellent work already underway. The Science Department currently consists of ten full time teachers, three subject specific technicians and two subject specific Learning Support Assistants, who are clearly focused on raising standards of teaching to “outstanding” and ensuring all pupils make excellent progress. Our A2 results for 2016 were Physics 80% A* - E 20% A* – B, Chemistry 100% A* - E 50% A* - B, Biology 100% A* - E 67% A* - B and our GCSE results were Physics 77% A* - C, Biology 69% and Chemistry 71%. Core Science and Additional Science achieved 18% and 12% A* - C pass rate respectively.
We are keen to appoint dedicated colleagues who are eager to support our students to achieve in all aspects of their school life and who want to be key contributors to our school’s success.
We encourage visits from prospective candidates to meet members of our school community and to experience our school at first hand. If you would like to do this please contact Ann Pullin, PA to the Headteacher on 01268 474485 or via email or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A recruitment package, including financial assistance and benefits, is available.
Closing date: 02/12/2016
