We are looking for committed and dynamic Lead Practitioners to join a thriving 11-18 Church of England academy at a pivotal moment in its development. Applications will be welcomed from colleagues in a wide range of subject areas. However, we expect to appoint at least one of the Lead Practitioners within one of the core subject areas of English Maths and Science.
Bacon’s College is a thriving and oversubscribed school with a richly diverse student population. As a former City Technology College it has a long history of innovation and a track record of success. However, student achievement should be a lot higher than it currently is. Improving the quality of teaching is the key priority for the College.
We are seeking two colleagues who will work under the direction of the Vice Principal to lead the transformation of teaching and learning at the College. As outstanding practitioners these colleagues will have a teaching commitment and will also have the equivalent of one day each week to work with colleagues to support them in their planning and delivery.
The Lead Practitioners will have a lead role in the process of building a culture at the College where teachers feel a real sense of being supported, enabled and nurtured in their teaching.
Closing Date: Friday 12 noon on Friday 21 April
Interview dates: Week starting Monday 1 May
Candidates interested in the post are encouraged to contact the Principal, Chris Mallaband, for a confidential conversation.
Application packs are available here. Please contact Val Oughton, PA to the Principal if you have any questions or concerns: v.oughton@baconscollege.co.uk

About Bacon's College
In Spring 2018, Bacon’s College will be joining United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England.
Our schools work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. Our subject specialists, our Group-wide intranet, our own curriculum and our online learning portal all help us share knowledge and resource, helping to simplify work processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance.
As a Group, we can reward our staff better: with good career opportunities, better pay, benefits, and ultimately, the satisfaction of helping children to succeed. We invest in our staff wellbeing. Our academies each have at least eight INSET days per year (with three of those solely dedicated to planning), and an ongoing group-wide wellbeing programme. It's an ethos we call ‘the best in everyone’.
