As Lead A-level Psychology teacher, this position provides the candidate with an exciting opportunity to work extensively with our Sixth Form. The Sixth Form at Bolingbroke is now in its fifth year and is going from strength to strength. With capacity for only 170 students, we enjoy a culture of personalised, small-community provision. The students live out our core values, shining as young leaders and academics in our academy.

Start date:   April 2022

Salary:   Ark MPS (£31,242 –£42,520) + TLR 2A £2,873

Closing Date:    Tuesday 11th January 2022 at 8am

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

• Be an outstanding teacher, able to motivate and challenge learners of all abilities across Key Stages 3-5.

• Work within the Ark Network to develop the Psychology offer and experience at Bolingbroke.

• The ability to lead others and inspire buy-in of the curriculum. 

Strategic Activities 

• Drive and develop the Academy’s provision of Psychology at Key Stage 5, maintaining our outstanding history of outcomes.

• Develop plans and processes for the classroom with measurable results. Interpret and develop results to make improvements in pupil achievement.  

• Review and evaluate current exam boards against Ark standard, creating strategic action plans.

Teaching and Learning

• Exude a passion for Psychology which is evident in day to day classroom practice.

• Develop an engaging and challenging curriculum that inspires pupils to appreciate the subject and its application, meeting the needs of all pupils. 

• Deliver outstanding teaching and learning, thereby helping pupils achieve excellent academic results. 

• Have a proven track record of success and raising pupil attainment.

• Ability to teach Science at KS3 desirable
