Job overview
Our energetic and forward thinking science faculty is looking for a lead technician with a passion for supporting good science in schools. Strong organisational and technical skills, with an awareness and working knowledge of health and safety best practice are all essential requirements of this post.
The Lead Science Technician will organise and execute the delivery and development of technical services in order to support the science curriculum in the academy for all students.
Candidates with a physics subject bias are particularly encouraged to apply. All applicants should have strong working experience supporting a department in biology, chemistry and physics.

Ipswich Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school in Suffolk, serving students from the age of 11-16. It belongs to the Paradigm Trust, along with four other primary and secondary academies.
Formerly Holywell High School, Ipswich Academy converted to academy status in 2010. The Learning Schools Trust invested £16 million into a new building at the school, which opened in 2013, with facilities including a 3G sports pitch area.
